Some road trips are so epic so tell future generations about them.
I recently reconnected with a friend, and fellow photographer, Danielle. (See her work here) I went to high school with her back east, and it turns out her family now lives in Utah as well. Apparently, I also grew up with them, without making the connection that they were related.
Danielle asked me to join her to shoot the wedding of the daughter of the family to be held in St. George. We decided we’d maximize the opportunity by adding on an extended road trip of the Southwest after the wedding.
We started our adventure in Salt Lake. Got our sweet rental car (that we’d eventually spend almost 2 weeks in and drive 2000 miles, seriously, 2000!) We then enjoy an awesome wedding in St. George, creating some gorgeous images at the LDS temple and in the remarkable landscape of Snow Canyon. While in St. George we did some serious playing in the pool, explored “the crack” at Pioneer Park and mined our very own gypsum (or selenite).
Next step was Las Vegas. I have been to Vegas more times than I care to admit. However, Danielle had never been. We had to do it.
