It has always been my desire to give back. And ever since I became a photographer I have wanted to go on humanitarian trips to capture those that are giving of their time and talents to help others, as well as bringing attention to people in need around the world.
A few friends of mine are involved in an organization called Carecuts (They do haircuts for homeless and those in need) I shoot their Gala every year. [See the post here] But that isn’t good enough for them. They’re such good people they had to go start another organization to assist vulnerable individuals, specifically orphans and refugees. I was fortunate enough to tag along with them on their trip down to the Belize to serve at an orphanage there.
It was such a rewarding time. The children there have so so much love. It was nice just spending time with them, but we also worked on some construction projects while we were their, and other programs like “Day for Girls” to help educate the children.
The other half of our trip was spend on a beach-front paradise of San Pedro, on Ambergris Key. Those were some good days. We are very blessed.
